TSL Paraffin Canvas Noshi Envelope

TSL Paraffin Canvas Noshi Envelope

Handmade by The Superior Labor, a beautiful paraffin canvas money envelope, designed like a classic "shūgi-bukuro" envelope, traditionally used in Japan to gift money in celebrations like weddings or births. The front side has a "noshi",  a symbol of good wishes, stamped with gold foil.

On the back there is a Japanese crane or a turtle, stamped in gold foil, that both symbolizes longevity and good luck. The envelope closes with "mizuhiki" strings, in this case made of leather, and kept together with a TSL brass tag.

It comes with a paper envelope to hold the money together inside the "shūgi-bukuro".

The paraffin canvas, lightly water-resistant and a bit sturdy, is the same material that TSL uses for many of their camp products. It is washable. We recommend to wipe it with a cotton fabric soaked in warm water and laundry soap. The look of the edges have a rough finish, some thread ends may slightly fray, but they will not run.

Size:  9.5 cm × 18.5 cm // 3.74 x 7.28 inches
Material: paraffin canvas, vegetable tanned Japanese cow leather string, brass
